This is a topic about death metal!
Are there any more extreme fans here.
Those who didn't find out Napalm Death when annie made a song with them, for example...
If you wanna talk here about the latest In Flames album,it's ok with me ...but it's not what i had in mind :green:

There will always be a place in my heart for the dark death stuff. Although I used to listen to that stuff more when I was a teenager, I still try and listen to some death metal at least once a day. The group that never seemed to get credit for having that destinct unique sound was Atheist. Elements is probably my favorite of their albums.

Another group that I loved so much was Grave. I'd have to list Soulless and And Here I Die... as my favorites of their releases.

Amorphis is also another band I admire. Their albums Tales and Elegy are some of my favorite discs of all time. I like their newest album Eclipse, but I can't seem to get the notion out of my head that they are no longer a death metal band. They sound more like a progressive rock band now....but I still like them.

Thanks for starting this topic Dutch. I unburied all my old death metal albums and have been listening for some days now. I feel revitalized and alive again. I haven't felt this good in years. I put in Cannibal Corpse's Hammer Smashed Face and couldn't stop thrashing around. I opened up the windows and let the neighbors have a little Asphyx's Serenade In Lead.

anata's "infernal depths of hatred" is best really.

I just checked out Anata, they are pretty good. Sadly I couldn't hear the song Infernal Depths Of Hatred, the one I heard was Entropy Within. I'll probably request Infernal on TotalRock. Thanks phm.

Hmmm I'm not really into this genre..but I really like Arcturus and Meshuggah and I find the works of Mr. Ishahn great too. (hopefully spelled correctly) Also Nile, those guys are gods too.
It comes quite not too often that I'd listen to very "extreme" things but well, stimes happens.

But rather progressive rock with death influences like Opeth. Or the Hungarian band Watch My Dying, recommanded aswell!

And how do you think 'bout Amon Amarth?
I haven't heard their latest album yet but got to say that The Crusher and Avenger and Versus The World really impressed me 8)

Does anybody know the finnish death metal band Kalmah???

I think they play great music, melodic, but their newest album is also speedy.
Check their albums Swampsong, and the newest!

But Amorphis also did a great work on their earlier album such as Elegy or Tales, but I like their new albums as well, Tuonela is great and I like the bit progressive Am universum and the newest Eclipse is lovely. :) :flower: :green:

Extreme metal by far my favourite form of music. You would be wondering why the f*ck I would be listening to The Gathering's later stuff!

Morbid Angel, Mithras, Opeth (mostly thier first four albums even though I do listen to their last four now and then), Novembre, Nagelfar, Alcest, Xasthur, Leviathan, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Emperor, etc.
