I'm not too familiar with Phlebotomized. What I do know is that they where an extremely experimental band that tried to use many of the influences and styles that other bands of that time where using and incorporated them into their sound. I'm not certain, but that might have been what led them to disband. This is just my opinion, I truly don't know what happened to them nor why they disbanded. Their album lyrics lead you to believe that they are a xian group but I've heard some of their songs before and they sounded a little darker lyrically. I'll have to check them out......

Thanx for your opinion. In a way they really were an experimental band by based firmly on death metal and maybe some pieces of doom..
Immense Intense Suspense '94 was a revelation to me,for the 1st time I've heard such a style combination..But on Skycontact '97 they went even further and perhaps after this album their imagination has come to an end :-? Anyway this 2 albums were great and it's a pity that they Haven't released more

Asphyx' Last one on Earth from 1992 has been re-released lately, containing also the Crush the Cenotaph EP and some Demo-tracks. Very fine. I'm not very much into Death Metal, but I like some old Dutch DM Bands.

I guess that Opeth is about as close as I get. I could listen to Still Life all day long, and the gig in Leeds not too long ago was brilliant.
