I think stg with its mixing was f*ed up...I mean, when they play with clean guitars, it's nice and bbalanced but somehow it sounds me a bit dimmer when the heavy guitars coming.
Listen Balance... when the heavy part begins. Don't you hear? (or I dunno, for me it sounds so)

Btw it's a greaaat DVD!
(and how nice the encore songs were - which are not on it... Fragile, Dying Wish, Angelica, Comfortably Numb...it was a damn great gig!)

I'll see Moonspell and Anathema together on 2nd March, I'll listen for you aswell, Maniac :D

it's a pity that MEtalmania is on that day as some days later there will be Depeche Mode gig in the same place - too much travelling to Katowice for me so I'll miss this opportunity :)
Anyway I saw Moonspell 3 years ago on Metalmania and this was the best concert then (and some other great bands played then incl. Paradise Lost and Tiamat) - absolutely fantastic performance ! I'd like to hear new material as previous Antidote was slightly dissapointing for me.

This MetalMania I talk about is the Hungarian one  I guess it's organized after it or stg and they get to us some of the bands (actually we have 5 bands there from the Katowice festival...)

Anyway, a DM would be fine once aswell :(

For all Anathema fans - New interview with ex-frontman

I just thought I'd give you the link to the interview I did with original Anathema (and ex-Blood Divine) frontman Darren White. As some of you may already know, he has a great new band called Serotonal up and running. They have some great new demo tracks available to listen to at their website http://www.serotonal.co.uk so check them out as soon as you get the chance.

Here's the link for the interview:

That is a really great and informative interview. Thanks a lot! :D I wonder, since Seratonal is looking for a label that Darren doesn't talk to Duncan from Strangelight?

Anathema will release three new songs on i-tunes 18th april

as the band is without a record deal and without any financial backing to record an album, we respectfully ask all our fans to go to the i-tunes site and pay for the songs.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! as you will be directly supporting the band at a difficult time, and your money will go towards paying for anathema to record an album this year.

we need your help.

if you want to be a true fan and help the band directly, instead of helping record companies... do not copy these songs from your friends! go to i-tunes on april 18th and buy them. the price is very cheap!

(more at: http://www.anathema.ws)

I don't know much about i-tunes...
Does it mean that this EP will be meanwhile on the Internet and in future it will be released in a CD form?
How it goes when a band releases songs / EP (CD) this way?
(jej I'm really uneducated fan  )

I guess it will depend on how much money they make from the songs downloaded. Not enough money=internet release only.
I just can't believe a great band like Anathema haven't found a decent record label.

I wish they would come back to America. Seen The Gathering and Dead Can Dance. All that's left is Anathema and I'll be happy!!

nah, they sell more than some other signed artists, an average of 40,000 copies for an album isnt bad at all. i think theyre not looking for the right labels, or maybe refuse offers from metal labels. no idea really.

Good point. I'm pretty sure a lot of metal labels have approached them assuming they still sound like they did 10 years ago. My question is: why don't they consider signing to Strangelight? Isn't your band Breaklose on there PHM? They could use Strangelight to distribute in Europe, UK. ect and The End records to distribute in the states. I'm pretty naive about the details and how it all works. Maybe you could shed some light PHM?

I love them, however I couldn't describe with words what they mean for me. But I think that you know, it is more than music, it is emotion....
and this is also a reason why I like Anathema....they release a lot of feelings and emotion in my head...
