Wow... not too sure what to think or make of the show.

The songs were great. To those thinking that it would sound like DCD, well, it didn't. Lisa's solo work is more of a soundtrack feel, and the show really captured that essence. No band, only 2 musicians, both playing keyboards and piano. No percussion (something strongly present with DCD). Pretty bare stage, only two large white drapes and lighting. As opposed to DCD, the music was accessory to Lisa's voice. (Whereas DCD has a complete feel to both the music, Brendan and Lisa's voices.)

It still felt like the tour had been thrown out too fast. Almost no publicity (at least here in Montreal, which resulted in a not sold-out show, something very uncommon, seeing that both DCD shows in 2005 sold out in minutes). A few extra musicians could have helped... Maybe an extra guy to play percussions, gong, etc.

And it's the first time I heard Lisa talk... In all DCD show i saw, she was mostly silent while Brendan did the talking. Well, Lisa sounded... high, maybe? At points she seemed to ramble. Maybe she is shy, maybe she is silly, maybe it's Australian humor... it was weird.

Anyway, it was a good show. Just not a great show.

Hell, yeah! She's coming to Greece in November! :D

Let's hope the impressions above were a one-time thing, maybe a bad day for her? 'Cause I've got really high expectations of her and her performance!

And in any case, I think I've grown accustomed to how Lisa sounds in her latest solo works, and I don't think I'll expect to hear something similar to DCD... It's been a while since I last listened to them, too.

I guess we'll see!

If you like Lisa´s latest solo works, you might enjoy the concert. While I liked Lisa´s first two solo albums very much, I never got into "Immortal Memory" and haven´t bothered to buy her current album after I heard that it went into a similar direction.

I had seen Lisa on her first solo-tour 12 years ago, where she had been accompanied by an entire band including percussionists and where she had also played the Yang Ch´in. I had enjoyed that concert very much, so maybe this very positive memory might have caused wrong expectations. Because I found her concert in Duisburg in April rather disappointing. No percussion, no Yang Ch´in, no "real" instruments except of a piano and a small gong (which seemed to fulfill mostly decorative purposes) - all other sounds were artificially generated. To be honest, it sounded all a bit samey to my ears and the concert left me rather cold. The sound wasn´t too good, either. It might sound harsh, but in retrospect I´ve got to say that for me, spending €53.00 on the concert ticket was a waste of money.

Yeah, I think I get what you 're saying. I guess we 'll have to see what happens. I am kind of weary about the concert now, though. But there's no way I'm missing it in any case! :green:
