I'm sure there's a few Rush fans on this board so here's my favorites off the new cd.

Armour and Sword (love the main part, totally catchy)
Malignant Narcissism
Spindrift
Far Cry

At first I wasn't really taken by the album, but after a few listens it's been in my cd player for a solid 2 weeks.
I like the variation of song tempo's anything from accoustic guitar to rock out instrumentals.
As a whole I like this one alot more than Vapor Trails.

i dont feel like being a fan, just a Rush listener.

it's a great band.
... currently, it's my favourite prog rock (not metal) band i think.

BTW, I read very good reviews about the new album.

Vapor Trails being not my favourite album too, this new release will be some good opportunity to listen back to their discography.

I can’t call myself a fan either. I really like some stuff and
some of it does not touch me at all.
From Snakes And Arrows I liked The Main Monkey Business,
but of course there are many more good tracks.

I like the new album, but I'm still wishing they'd play like the 70's early 80's again.

The instrumentals really got my attention on the new one.

A totally fantastic album that shows that Rush have not lost their touch (contrary to what some might say).

Those planning to see Rush on their upcoming tour(s) will be interested to know that Alex Lifeson himself said that the band plan to play nine songs from Snakes & Arrows in their set. Personally, I can't wait to see that.

9 songs sounds great! :D
I think long time fans always want to hear alot of the new stuff, and alot of the rarities they never play, like they did on Vapor Trials tour with "Between The Wheels"
I'm going to see them in Buffalo and London, Ontario this year.

I'll be seeing them in Calgary, and it'll be my first live Rush viewing.

I'm a big rush fan. :) The new CD will take me some time to like I think. Not that they've lost their touch or anything like that. They have changed a bit. I miss their intensity. Maybe it's more subtle now on the new CD but I don't feel the energy. Rush's career has been musically intense. Even as recent as Vapor Trails. The instrumental on S&A is pretty cool.

Just my initial thoughts. The CD player in my car died so I haven't been able to hear it too much. I should be getting my new one tomorrow and putting it in over the weekend.

I've seen them countless times. Probably the best was the first tour they did without an opening act. It was a tour, I think, before Vapor trails but after counterparts. They did the full Natural Science. :D that was very cool. Unfortunately they have played at a place I can't stand the past 2 tours and again this tour, so I won't be seeing them again.

I havnt cared for many songs they have done in the last 10 or 15 years. Maybe a few songs each CD, but they are always really good in concert.

They are awesome in concert (although usually awesomely expensive tickets too). Technically, these guys are geniuses.

Another good live "technical" band is Dream Theater. A live Petrucci guitar solo is almost like an orgasm.

One of the things I enjoy in Rush music is their technicity (as perfect as it is). It is not so demonstrative in comparison with some oldies (like Kansas or Saga for example). moreover, Rush songography is very various. ^

One day, I will see them...for sure. \m/ lol

Just got into Rush this summer with S&A and 3 other albums (Vapor, some 1978 stuff and the 2005 album - forgot the names).
Hey, it's great! How to play very good music by three. And yeah, I'd be so curious about a concert too...

What albums would you recommend from 1978 to 2000 for me? I saw there are sooo many, I want to go on with some cult ones but I don't know which you mean to be one. Help me out please.
