Over the last 10 years I have turned many dreams and experiences into songs. I started recording a selection of the very personal ones during the past 6 months.

We've laid down the basic tracks at the Waterfront Studio's in Rotterdam and recorded overdubs at The Void in Eindhoven, as well as in the comfort of my own home studio. I'm excited to send these songs off into the world and share them with you all!

I have formed a band called Agua de Annique to help me voice these songs. We will release an album called 'Air' in the fall of 2007. Besides the wonderfully talented people in the band, a few of my friends will make appearances on this album.

The lovely Kristin Fjellseth will sing additional vocals, Jeffrey Fayman has made a string arrangement for a song called "Ice Water." Heleen de Witte plays the flute and Timothy Conroy provided some killer trumpet work. The album is mixed by Jon Anders Narum.

Agua de Annique is:

Anneke van Giersbergen; vocals/piano
Joris Dirks; guitars/vocals
Jacques de Haard; bass
Rob Snijders; drums

The first song is very good!
I'm sure that Anneke will make a great record.
I'm sure that TG will make great music too...(the problem is the voice..if there's going to be any voice)

I got the sense while reading Anneke's first press release that she was moving away from music all together and it would be the last time we would her her voice. It's a relief to see that's not the case.

Still and all, whatever music she does in the future just won't be the same, just as The Gathering can never be the same. I'm glad I got to see them live just in time, but regretful that I didn't get into them sooner.

Beautiful song indeed. It just feels kinda... wrong, this soon after the bad news. I'll appreciate it more when a little more time has passed.

GREAT song.

exactly what i was expecting she would/should do. something like a camp/cardigans/ amity tripPop remix of the song. i wish this is the direction of this band.

anyway it doesn't matter,if all songs are like the first one, then GREAT.

i might even say better she left, and now we can hear wonderful music from her band, and the rest of TG too.

I agree. This will be a fantastic project, and I can't wait to see the record in my hands.

I'm wondering if the drummer is indeed Anneke's husband, as I suspect. :D

Yes, Rob Snijders is playing drums and is her husband. Looks like a family project & will be a setup for the long term.

I agree. This was so fast that it makes you wonder. Had she been recording on the side?
