Little by little I am liking her solo stuff. Never bought the album because I didn't like the clips I heard on myspace. But this video and the Margarita one is nice. :flower:

Hello all Agua de Annique nuts!

Anneke has contributed some unfucking believably good vocals to the brand new Giant Squid record, The Ichthyologist, available for pre-order now at myspace.com/giantsquid before it's official release date of Febraury 3rd. She sings on the song, "Sevengill". There is a video on Giant Squid's myspace page and you tube here, from the studio of guest appearances recording on this album. Though unfortunately Anneke isn't physically in the video, you can hear a quick snippet of her at the end that will give you damn chills.

The album is limited to only 1000 copies of the self released version with beautiful limited edition packaging, and they're selling fast as it is, so grab one now if you want one!

Here's what Anneke had to say about it: "When I was asked to sing on the new Giant Squid album I was just over the moon! After we did a small U.S. tour together in 2006 I really got into their music and still there is not a week that goes by that I don't play their songs. From what I hear their new material is fantastic. The music is intense and emotional; rock that is heavy on the heart. I love it and I love being part of it!"

So, who's going to the 2 shows in Holland next month?

I'll be taking vacations in Europe those days and I'll make it with Thomas and Arnold to those shows.

greets

-->Gerardo

Anneke/AdA straight in at no.42 in the Dutch Album charts.Since these are all physical copies (I think),no downloads. this is excellent.

New York. But I usually buy albums in Amazon anyway, and Anneke's first album is on Amazon, but not the new one. :-? I know it's in her shop http://www.aguadeannique.com/shop but what does € 16,00 amount to in Dollars? It's so expensive for me to purchase CD's in Europe

It hasn't been released in the US. Not yet, anyway. You would have to pay twice as much to buy the import, or try EBAY. If you must have it now.

It's available on the Dutch version of iTunes. Basically, go to the bottom of the iTunes store page and switch the country settings to the Netherlands.

I'm starting to like Anneke's solo stuff more than before actually hehe.

But her new album is still a bit expensive, €16 ($20.68 right now) is a bit too much for regular jewel-case CD with no extras whatsoever. "Air" is much cheaper, $10 on Amazon.

There's also a nice LP version of Air, but it's €22 + shipping, and right now I'm broke.

That's total BS and you know it.
I think both TG and Anneke are doing fine on their own. Anneke doesn't need the band to succeed, same goes for TG.

Like I said before: have you seen her doing those pathetic acoustical gigs at schools and small CD-stores?

Well shrink is maybe going a bit far... Of course it's unlikely that Anneke has regrets and is trying to get back... She's busy with recording a second album...

But nonetheless, I was expecting Pure Air to be above the first effort but I only listen to it twice cause it bored me... It seems Anneke is not able to transpose what she used to do solo before AdA even existed on record. So I'll have a listen of the next records but my expectations are very low to be honest...
