YEAH BABY!!!!!

Here is the official statement:
--Begin--
FAITH NO MORE

Faith No More has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat--its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile. Throughout our 17years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe.

Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we've experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.

What's changed is that this year, for the first time, we've all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we've discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right.

Meanwhile we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kickass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we've decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff....
BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!

We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM.
Who know where this will end or what it will bring up...only the future knows. But we are about to find out!

FAITH NO MORE are:
Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, Jon Hudson and Mike Patton

--End--

Ahh, NO Jim Martin. No thanks.

Martin lives in my town Castro Valley (Cliff Burton RIP) . He grows Pumpkins. Martin grew a 1,064 lb. Pumpkin.

Exactly... no Jim :(
Apparently they still can't get along even after, what, 15 years?
Long-ass time to hold a grudge... What a shame.

I've been looking forward to some kind of a reunion, someday, as Jim Martin seems to have become something of a recluse the past 10 years or so, and I wanted to see what he's up to now.
Seems like he gave up on music altogether. :(

Yeh, he doesn't play music at all. From what I read. He has a wife and kid, and grows pumpkins. :green:

Hm, yeah - I remember reading about that maybe 7 or 8 years ago...
There's this infamous photo that I can't seem to find at the moment, where he's crouching next to a giant pumpkin and giving a thumbs up... hard to tell it's even him at first, as he's got a trucker's had pulled over his head, with no long hair or beard, and no goofy red sunglasses :)

Didn't realize he also had a wife and kid, though- just did some googling now, and found this article from a few years ago which seems to say just about everything-
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_q ... _n15805306

I kinda idolized the guy as a teen, quite a bit... I guess he was probably my favorite part of Faith No More.
Such a shame that he left that band when I was only about 15- I wasn't quite at the age to go see concerts before then, and never got to see the dude live :(

Can't say that I saw the Jim Martin thing as a surprise. I knew he wouldn't join if they ever were to get back together. And I don't think it's so much about holding grudges either..

Just to shed some light on the situation: Martin didn't help out at all with the writing process on Angel Dust because he was stuck on personal issues (his father dying, which he says that if himself as well as the band could have been more attentive to the situation, things might have occurred differently) and "The Real Thing", saying it was FNM's ideal album in terms of song writing and touring. He also didn't walk out on FNM, he was fired because his compositions were becoming worse. Would you go back to a job that you felt slapped you in the face and you knew wouldn't work out for you? Seems like common sense to me.. People move on.

What I remember was he didn't get along with the other band members and he had a problem with Roddy Bottom, being that he is gay. I can't find any articles about that now. I clearly remember that being in the newspapers here. It was 15 or 16 years ago, though.

Maybe I should go over to his house and ask him.
