During the recordings of Sleepy Buildings, end of 2003, fans from all over the world ‘gathered’ at the Lux theatre to witness the recordings. People from Germany, France, and even from Mexico, Chili and Russia. This time Amsterdam will be host for an international ‘Gathering’!
the Gathering will record a special live registration for the long-awaited own DVD release. These recordings will take place Monday the 23rd of may at the beautiful Paradiso theatre – Amsterdam. The band will play 2 shows the same day, and both gigs will be recorded. These 2 concerts are the only 2 official concerts the Gathering will play this year!
Because the shows are seated, please note there are only 650 seats per show available. Don’t miss it. It will be an unique and overwhelming experience. Presales start Saturday the 29th of January.

After Anneke van Giersbergen expects her first born child, the Gathering will work on several recordings this year. Together with producer Attie Bauw [How To Measure A Planet?] the band will record songs for a new album. But first the band will concentrate on the release of their new DVD Part I, scheduled for a release autumn 2005. Part I will held the full semi-acoustic Paradiso concert, together with a tour documentary and a lot of extra archive material throughout the years.
Release of the studio album will be around the beginning of 2006. The band will go on the road again spring 2006, doing a new world tour to promote their new album. DVD part II will be recorded during the European dates, and will contain a full ‘rock’ concert of the band, together with a studio documentary and more archive and rare footage spanning a 15 year history.
