Ronnie James Dio was finally laid to rest on June 1st at 3:33 PM at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA. Ronnie was carried to his final resting place by his friends Vinny Appice, Geezer Butler, Craig Goldy, Steve Mignardi, Scott Warren and Simon Wright.

Πέθανε ο μπασίστας των Japan

Σε ηλικία 52 ετών, ο μπασίστας των Japan, Mick Carn έχασε την μάχη με την ζωή, νικημένος από τον καρκίνο.

Ο κυπριακής καταγωγής Βρετανός, διαγνώστηκε με καρκίνο τον περασμένο Ιούνιο αλλά ήταν ήδη πολύ αργά αφού η αρρώστια ήταν ήδη σε προχωρημένο στάδιο. Ο θάνατος του ήρθε την Τρίτη στο Λονδίνο.

Ο Αντώνης Μιχαηλίδης, όπως ήταν το αληθινό του όνομα, γεννήθηκε στη Λευκωσία το 1958 ωστόσο σε ηλικία 3 ετών μετακόμισε οικογενειακά στην Μ. Βρετανία. Εκεί το 1974 συμμετέχει στην δημιουργία των Japan, μία από τις σημαντικές αγγλικές μπάντες της εποχής.

Οι Japan κυκλοφόρησαν πέντε δίσκους ως το 1982 που διαλύθηκαν ενώ το 1991 επανασυνδέθηκαν κάτω από το όνομα, Rain Tree Crow και κυκλοφόρησαν ένα ομώνυμο δίσκο.

Ο Mick Carn το 2004 είχε επιστρέψει με την γυναίκα του και τον γιο του στη Κύπρο ωστόσο πρόσφατα αναγκάστηκε να επιστρέψει λόγω της υγείας του. Μάλιστα, επειδή τα οικονομικά του δεν ήταν και τα καλύτερα δυνατά, πολλοί ήταν αυτοί που πρόσφεραν την βοήθεια τους, όπως οι Porcupine Tree με τους οποίους και είχε συνεργαστεί. Είχε δουλέψει επίσης με τον Gary Numan και τον Peter Murphy των Bauhaus

Ο μπασίστας των Duran Duran, John Taylor σχολίασε, "Ήταν ένας από τους μεγάλους καλλιτέχνες της δεκαετίας του '70 και του ΄80".
