I'd definitely be happy, not only b/c it would be a welcome surprise to hear TG on TV, but also b/c it means that they're getting airplay & recognition out of the deal.

Yeah, sure! They'll never be massive even if they were played daily on MacDonalds adverts, they're too dense and sophisticated for Joe Public's palette. So let them get on everything and earn lots of nice money so they can go on making music comfortably for a long time into the future..

I made this poll because yesterday I saw a documentary about a prisoner soccer team...this documentary told us about all the championship of this prisoner soccer team....and in a while I've heard the song "Souvenirs"...(just few seconds...the part "bridge" with the guitar)....that it was as a little sondtrack for the intermezzo scenes

I try to appreciate Music for what it "is" ... not what it "represents"...

Does a band have to be famous (i'm talking about the commercial side) to be acknowledged (i'm talking about musical quality and talent) ?

i don't think so....

anyway... (here we are) as a TG's fan and to answer to this poll (which is interesting), I will be pleased* for a better TG's recognition all over the world (in soundtracks, using visual aid and so on....) ... as much as it makes them happier... to respect their decisions.... as much as they keep'on composing f*ckin' excellent songs... as much as it fits with the context (can we play "Liberty Bell" in a war documentary???? :-| ) and... as much as it doesn' reach a kind of high media bidding :green: (for example: the current commercial cr*ps)...

ps: i voted "Happy"

Very happy,
There is nothing wrong with a band going commercial.
We can't listen to nordic death metal all our lives. That is what makes The Gathering so good, you can listen to decent music without the shit baggage music of this type usually carries.

well...there is so many people that won't happy to listen The Gathering in Tv (maybe for the commercial side....for the commercial risk)...well...I'm not as that people :D

I image a The Gathering's song for documentary of nature....clean and pure nature...and for difficoult human tales, difficoult moments
told in a documentary

Maybe I must to entitle that topic "Are You Proud When..." instead of "Are You Happy When..." because I felt very proud to hear The Gathering's music in TV....and I would to scream "The Gatheriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!!!! One of my favourite bands in a documentary...in the national TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ;)

I've listened to songs from always, mandylion or ntb and videos like leaves or some live presentation from in motion dvd in some cable tv channel or radio station (very rarely anyway) and yes, I've got thrilled...

nevertheless, a few time ago I saw monster video and almost unconsciously I preferred continuing my customary tv-zapping...

I suppose that it would be marvellous to listen to some TG song on TV, as long as it's not the soundtrack of a porn movie.
I don't even dare to think how I'd kill the producers... :tw: Hahahahahahaha :tw:
