Hi friends!!!, I don´t know if this is the place and the time to do this cuestion, firts because this is the TG forum and second Souvenirs is more listened than A Natural Disaster, but maybe it´s an interesting poll because the majority of forum members like both bands (Anathema and TG) and they have similar things (I said similar not the same ok)

My vote is for..... A Natural Disaster

My vote goes to 'Souvenirs'.
The best Anathema album IMHO is 'The Silent Enigma'. A4 and Judgement were great albums, but I haven't really gotten into AFDTE and AND.

I might change my mind some day(although unlikely). After all, I didn't like tG's HTMAP? until recently.

well, Souvenirs without any doubt...
I haven't bought A Natural Disaster just becasue I still wonder if I need to have this album... I do like Anathema but ach.. get some real producer!! Natural doesn't sound as good as it should!!
+ Well, Alternative 4 remains the best effort of the band in my opinion... And after, the best work from those people are surely... the Antimatter works 8)

As for Souvenirs, the only thing I dislike in this album is that they should have recorded the songs as they play them live... as they're far more atmophere developped when you hear the tune IRL!

Burn

I'm gonna go for Souvenirs too, even though we're talking about two very different bands, IMO. Souvenirs is simply a better album in every respect, it shows a band that has matured in its sound and knows what it wants out of its art, while A Natural Disaster continues on the unsure steps of A Fine Day... trying to stay true to Danny's inspiration while attempting to cross into the mainstream. Let it be said, however that I like A Natural Disaster very very much, and I think it's a fine album. It's just that Souvenirs is better IMO.

These two album are great masterpieces... These two bands are giant ....Their music are trully melodic, full of emotions...

But their comparison is a kind of confusing...
cause they have their own musical identity.

A Natural Disater is human...deeply beautiful and melancholic ... its sad water flow by itself...

whereas

More mysterious, Souvenirs is a mixed of creativity and joy... and its songs share different moods and feelings of my life...

Maybe the reasons why I do prefer "Souvenirs"

Anyway, The Gathering always gave their best... It goes further and further.... to push their musical and art limits... to infinite horizons.

Souvenirs seems more unexpectable and deeper and deeper after every listening, so emotional, and Annie's vocals that make you flow away... the choice is obvious ;)

Well, at this time Souvenirs win, I knew it happens. O.K. Alternative 4 was an exelente stuff, and maybe A Natural Disaster isn´t better than A4. But wiith Souvenirs is the same thing, it isn´t better than HTMAP or Mandylion for exemple (to a lot of people).
I choose A.N.D just because to me its an album most complete than A Fine Day To Exit and I think Souvenirs doesn´t beat If Then Else.

You know, I love both, an the choise was hard.

Would you care to rephrase that before I fly over to Germany to take care of your lack of appreciation for Anathema with my ass kickin' boots?

And I had to go with A Natural Disaster. Souvenirs is a superb album, but it took me a while to appreciate it, while A Natural Disaster sprung out at me immediately upon my first listen.
