Who uses virgins nowadays? It's a bit unpleasant, cause they have to stay virgin until the end of the ceremony and then they're mostly dead ;)

Thanks!

This from the person who dismissed every one else's opinion with the phrase "Anathema sucks!" So no, I would not care to show some respect towards your opinion, as you have shown no respect for mine.

And no, Anathema are not gods. They're simply a damn great band.

Well, I stated MY opinion about Anathema.

ach peace all!
Moshpit said what he thought and despite the fact it wasn't maybe the smartest way to say it, respect his opinion.
Personnaly I'm far more into Antimatter than Anathema since Antimatter appeared ;)

Easy - SB! Anathema's latest two albums haven't done too much for me - they're alright but not on the same level as Alternative 4 or Judgement.

take care,

Romy

Thanks, Burn. I think it would have been better if I had said something like
"Anathema is not my cup of tea".

This kind of polls are too difficult for me. There should be a third option "Can't tell, they are both crap/great". :P

It's like asking which is better: "A cold beer after a long and hot day in the slave fields" or "A cold beer after an hour in a hellishly hot sauna". In both cases a cold beer tastes absolutely wonderful.

I agree, Alternative 4 is the best Anathema´s album to a lot of people (including to me) but AND have something special too, maybe 5% more than Souvenirs.
Anathema Gods, mmmm ok they`re not, but like Heratbeat.. said is a great band, my favourite.
Take care, it´s only a poll to opinion, not to fight and to offend :D

ANATHEMA made only two good songs: "Empty" and "Fragile dreams". The rest bored me, that´s why I don´t like the band.

Ok Moshpit, but really I can´t undeestand, why did you said Anathema sucks if you like two song, For exemple, I say Marylin Manson sucks and I hate everything about that bastard, any song, any video and etc.
Then in this case maybe you could say I don´t like Anathema instead of "sucks". My opinio only friend. :-?

Well, as I said: The rest of the record was soooo boring... I´ve checked the albums that were released later on and the songs failed to impress me. I overreacted when I said that they suck...

I love (if not outright worship) both bands so much, and still listen to one of either of these albums daily, on an almost equal basis. Not my favourite albums from either band; HTMAP was incredible for me - an absolute revelation in music, and Judgement equally was unbelievable - the work of a band just the safe (but incredibly creative) side of absolute insanity!! However, my vote goes to Anathema: the driving basslines of 2000 mtrs, the prgression of violence, the floydesque are you there? (which has taken some time to come to like, but like it I really do now!) a very unsafe album to my mind if trying to attract fans of the likes of Radiohead or Blur - to me I just think Anathema - just as the Gathering - have made an album for their own CD players, and I'm very happy with that :-) Must say I think that songs like even the spirits, and monsters are incredible, big proof that the Gathering really know how to write songs at a level most bands can't even dream of; but I do feel like of the last two albums A.N.D. was just (slightly) the better of a very good couple of albums. One quick point though - a life all mine is IMHO the best song from either of these albums - not sure I like the guys vocals too much, who is this guy? but still, such a good song - a bit more intense, but a building, increasing in pressure kind of intense. Very cool.

I have to pick Souvenirs as the better album easily....it's my top album of 2003. I do really like most Anathema however. A Natural Disaster for the most part has not grown on me like I hoped it would. Perhaps I need to give it some more listens. I loved Judgement (One Last Goodbye is simply a masterpiece to me) & A Fine day to Exit. Both amazing albums in my opinion. I can't ever see appreciating A Natural Disaster as much as those two prior albums.

A Natural Disaster didn't do much for me. Although it's a decent record, the band have done stuff a lot better. Souvenirs however was absolutely superb.
