I will buy The Gathering new album because I would already get Air's Agua de Annique a few months ago. this is what will happen anyway.

Now If you need to know who is my favourite band between the two of them, currently, let's be clear, it is still The Gathering and not Agua de Annique.

I'm just very and more excited about the new direction of both bands (I mean The Gathering and AdA, not The Gathering and Anneke in AdA), like some of us over here and Anneke is still my favourite female singer forever.

that's it.

ps: that's a huge mistake to go shopping without your credit card ... this is unreal to me LOL. Unless I ask for friend's help, I even would rather stay outside the music store. ahaha...

I would first hear both, and then buy if they worth the money. As always.

Now if if if if if if if,all the ifs of the question, seems i'm the first and only one who voted for ADA. That is because i've heard some songs and i think it's worth it,and on the other hand the last TG cd Home was a huge disappointment after so many years of great releases(including the sleepy buildings disappointment too).

I think the point of this poll is a bit dull... I think you have to see both bands as separate things and not always compare them. Moreover I don't really think a comparison would be a smart thing to do: you have a choice between an experimental band or a singer/songwriter pop/rock album (which I don't deny could have a bunch of very good songs on it).
But it's like you would say, will you buy the next Ulver or the next Damien Rice if you see my point.

It's not dull. You're in the store and you have money for 1 cd. You have to pick 1. It's just a desicion, not philosophy, nor any kind of music comparison and compatibility.

I would buy Ulver's and download Damien's :green: :green: :green: :green: :green:
For this poll i voted The Gathering of course, but to be completely accurate... i will buy Ulver's and Agua de Annique's on the last week of october through The End Records Omega Store, no matter what!!!. The store dilemma in this poll, would NEVER happen to me, not in shitty cdshops like we have in Mexico City, if i was to see both cds in the shelf, after the release, i would first have a heart attack, then feel like something was stolen from me and is being vulgarized, then i would take my cell phone and take 100 pictures so my fellow mexican friends would believe me.

Being realistic: at least for me, getting quality music (at least the kind i like), 99.9% of the times, means either internet Mastercard or Paypal.

Want to know whom id rather choose between both bands?
I don't compare them, the only songs I have really liked from AdA are "Day after yesterday" and "Witnesses", the other songs don't question much neither my heart nor my brain. I'm just hoping, that the CD will be a gorgeous and definite surprise that will shut everyone's mouth (mine included). I love Anneke's voice, out of the question, she is a goddess, will keep on being my fav female singer for aeons ahead, I just wish when I listen to "Air" there is actually a band that proposes something in the background instead of being merely companion musicians. But as I said, I'm anxiously waiting to be pleasantly surprised.

TG & Anneke are artists, excellent musicians, composers... both albums, will sure stand for themselves.

Besos

Totally off-topic! But I had a totally different view of Mexico City music stores! :P When I was there I went to 1 CD store and they had a GREAT selection! I even bought the mexican version of The Gathering albuns (digipack :green: )! I forgot the name of the store, though..
I guess I got really lucky!

I agree with Lukaz... appart from the expensive stores (Mix up and Tower records, we have really nice independient stores over here (Arnold and Thomas wolud agree with me).

I guess you are talking about the "Hard" Stores.

And about the cds, obiously Ill go for TG cd.

Surely Ill buy ADA album, but im not really excited about the it. Just heard the songs, and I think are OK, but thats all. Also I think the drumming is lame (What happened with that good Celestial Seasson drumming?? )

Regards

Agua de Annique.

I ADORE The Gathering, they're one of my 2 favourite bands ever, and I will keep supporting them, but the main reason I got into them was Anneke's voice, which I think is something simply not human...and has been a constant during these last 3 years of pain and sadness...so my first thought will always be for her and the huge amount of emotion she is able to give...

...but I'll get money and buy TG record the following day!!!

Well is a little bit daring to make such a question in here. After all this is a tG forum for Christ sake!

AdA doesn't have anything that I would care to listen to, about the "vocals factor", it was just curiousity at the beginning, but they don't offer anything remarkable anymore.
in a few words Agua de Anique is for pink girls and sissy boys.
