Is kind of difficult to choose one part of TG history, 'cause their music has changed in all the CD, and in the differents styles that they made their music was greate. You can't make a comparision between Mandylion, a doom record, and Home, some kind of new rock, miore indie, a trip rock.
So...my vote is spoiled ballot-paper for this time, I need to thikn this with my pillow xD

[quote]yes, is a hard poll... cause the question is for the golden age, right? so, for golden age i understand the classic era, end obviously the classic times was in the past! so i voted for the past...

Hmmm... Not always the golden era or classic era is in the past. When you are in the time that later will be considered a "classic era" you don't know that you are in the classic era. Perhaps the classic era is now or later or in the past, but we don't know it yet. The classics never know that are classics until years after. Maybe the classic era og TG may be all their albums or just a few ones, we don't know it yet.

We can ask for the same question in 10 or 20 years or more and then we could decide, but not now.

Is now, a bit of the past, and the future (hopefully). I won't say always because it isn't necessarily true (I'm not too fond of the pre-Anneke years or "Mandylion"), but everything else is true brilliance. :flower:

I voted "is in its past" because of the beautiful How To Measure A Planet ? album.
But I like todays albums very much and believe that the band has not finished surprising us !

in the past 1995-1998 (Mandylion - Nighttime Birds - How To Measure Planet)

These albums were masterpieces (imo) and I don't think they will ever make better ones than these..
Doesn't mean I don't like the newer albums! :D

2002.. I really like the mentality of the band at this period, it was when they began to be really independant with Psychonaut.. and they were never more creative, Black Light District EP is a masterpiece..

You can't really dish a band for trying something new. I've only heard two songs from the new singer and that was just a few moments ago. The first song I heard was real mellow and it went nowhere real fast. The second song wasn't too bad at all. The new singer can definitely sing, no doubt. She could even handle "Leaves" which would be difficult for a great many female singers out there. Though I would be lying if I said that the new singer pulls off equality with Anneke. But Anneke was one of those singers in her own league of vocalists, so I guess it would not be fair to hold the new vocalist to such a high standard set by Anneke. The new singer does have a very nice voice and thats hard to come by in metal these days. I guess in the end it boils down to personal opinion. Nightwish went through the same thing a few years ago when Tarja left.
