The Mess - King Moron (1992)


Avant garde rockers The Mess (think Zappa meets The Tubes) called upon Will for some guitarparts they themselves described as "impossible". Indeed, in the song "A Long way" Will was asked to play some fingerpicked, yet distorted guitarlines and some of them had to be in unison with and improvised noseflute part recorded earlier. Will pulled it off! On the same song a teenage female vocalist made her debut. Her name; Anneke van Giersbergen. Yeh, that's right, she later on became the frontwoman for Dutch mega-succesful rock act The Gathering.
