Cambiamenti anche sul fronte Agua de Annique. Quanta natalità!!!!
Quote:
Dear peeps,
Perhaps as an unintended prediction I wrote in the liner notes of Live in Europe: 'not too many things last forever'. So here I am, telling you about a changing of the guards in my backing band.
Earlier this year our dear friend Ruud Jolie joined the band on guitar during Joris Dirks' parental leave. Now the time has come for Ruud to get busy again with Within Temptation and his own project Maiden United. Joris sadly can't combine a day job and family responsibilities with Agua de Annique and won't return to the band. Musically Joris will be putting his huge talent to good use in his own band Moodswing, that will allow him to move at a slower pace than being a member of Agua de Annique does.
Besides the fact that my current bass player Jacques de Haard will become a daddy too early next year, I also knew he wanted to take some time to work on his own projects.
So, it's goodbye and so long to my dear friends Joris and Jacques, who embarked with me on this incredible adventure three years ago. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine all the things we've experienced and achieved as a band together. I wish you both all the luck in the world. Without you two guys I wouldn't be where I am now. Thank you 'lieverds'...
Also a huge thank you to Ruud for filling in for Joris and recording Live in Europe with me. You did very well my friend and made me laugh a lot.
These will be the last shows with Ruud on guitar and Jacques on bass;
November 5, 2010 – Simplon, Groningen NL
November 6, 2010 – Burgerweeshuis, Deventer NL
November 12, 2010 – Nieuwe Nor, Heerlen NL
November 18, 2010 – Vorstin, Hilversum NL
November 19, 2010 – LVC, Leiden NL
November 20, 2010 – Melkweg, Amsterdam NL
A few months ago I started looking for a new guitar collaborator and touring player. My front of house engineer Erik-Jan pointed out a young player making a big impact by the name of Thomas Martens. We met, rehearsed together and I asked him to join my band straight away.
My good friend Jamie Cavanagh takes over bass duties from Jacques. He and I became even closer when I opened for Anathema during the first leg of their European tour. His wealth of experience, musicality and the fact that he lives in the south of the Netherlands as well, makes him the perfect man for the job.
In the midst of all these changes my husband Rob remains my drummer and anchor. Last weekend he completed his tour as a member of John Garcia's band and became a full time Agua de Annique member again.
First shows with the new line up;
November 27, 2010 - Pécs, Local Heroes Yourope Festival HU
November 29, 2010 - Budapest, A38 Ship HU
Stay tuned for more news everybody!
