Now I do really want to share it. I'll try to upload someting to youtube or somewhere when is done. If it doesn't show up someone else first, (must be more ppl out there, having the same boot, I'm sure)
again don't promise anything though.
Cheers to you all. ;)

Are you dutch?? If you sent me the tape I will convert it to DVD and sent it back to you, no probemo!!

Just an idea of someone who is very inpatience......cheers

hahahaha c'mon Tenebris, don't be like that. It's as if you were offering Hershey's chocolates to the proverbial opera-singing fat lady on a diet :tw:

I think I may be able to shed some light on the case...

About the right dates for the Tel Aviv gigs; it's the 7th & 8th of April 1993, as you can see on the original poster:

Image

We did 2 gigs in two days, the setlist is accurate as far as I can see, although I don't have the complete recording myself... My tape stops after Passage to Desire, but I guess some people have access to better stuff...

@The unknown: I don't think the recordings Tenebris has are from Kortrijk, since I don't remember I've ever played there (but then again I tend to forget a lot... )

Quote:
A bootleg of the show at the Meulepop festival (20 June 1993) exits as well. I don't have this bootleg, but it's mentioned in an old interview (done by Steven Willems). On this bootleg you can hear Niels singing songs like 'The Sky People' and 'A Passage To Desire', which would later end up on the 'Almost A Dance' album

@Martijn: It wasn't Niels singing at Meulepop, it was one of the last gigs that I did with TG. I think the bootleg might be the recordings a local radiostation did.

@Tenebris: Maybe if you share the video, I can do the same with the Tel Aviv recording... (of course only if TG agrees, naturally). Although I have to warn that the quality of the recordings isn't that good, but I'm sure it will make at least some people happy...

Hi all,

I want to clear some things up which I'm 100% sure of:

1. The recordings Tenebris and Bart were talking about are definitely from a gig in Kortrijk (so you must have forgotten about it Bart ... ;) ...). I had a poster of this gig hanging in my room for many years. The Gathering played as a support of Gorefest back then on that day. The concert was filmed and later on sold by people from Shiver records if I'm not mistaken. That's how it probably ended up on a video-tapetrading-list.

2. The recordings of the Meulepop festival were indeed done by a local radiostation. I still have the recordings of this show and they're excellent quality. It was definitely a show with Bart but he also sings like 2-3 songs from the "Almost A Dance" album if I remember well ("The Sky People", "A Passage To Desire", ...) with totally different lyrics.

Hope this clears up a few things ... .

Steven Willems

Well I thought I had this bootleg you're talking about but nope I was mistaken.
I had to search among my garbage and old crap and I found a tape, with this concert, the track list below:

20.2.1993 (unknown place, surely is not the Tel Aviv one)
1.the mirror waters
2.in sickness and health
3.heartbeat amplifier
4.second sunrise
5.gaya's dream
6.stonegarden
7.a passage to desire
8.king for a day
9.always...
10.anthology in black
11.subzero

I took some TV screen shots using my old fashion vcr/vhs.
sorry the quality is quite bad, it sounds decent though, and the content is precious. In this gig we can see Bart singing Almost A Dance stuff with growls together with the lovely Marike aswell.

Hi All ! ! !

I saw this topic and obviously interested me a lot. I downloaded a bootleg from Tel Aviv (08-04-1993) months ago. They are just 7 songs:

1 In sickness and health 7:31
2 Gaya's dream 7:03
3 Second Sunrise 8:32
4 Heartbeat amplifier 5:38
5 Stonegarden 5:23
6 King for a day 7:41
7 Passage to desire 7:10

I hope this is what you´re talking about, I have only the AUDIO (good quality, not perfect, 128kbps) and of course I can share those 7 songs (besides the first comment lists 9 songs). Just tell me if this is what you need.

I obtained the letters too for "A passage to desire" and "Heartbeat amplifier" with Bart on vocals and they do are different from the ones from Almost a Dance.

And I will be following this thread because I am waiting for the video too, I love The Gathering with Bart Smits (greetings ! ! !), really, and that material will be amazing.

See you guys! ! !

Hi Steven,

can you share the Meulenpop festival recording please? And also a scan from that poster you mention?
I've been looking for the always tourposter for a very long time. I know it's a photo from the band like a almost finished puzzle and with 1 piece out of it..

grtz!
