It's easy: break into his house, make a copy of the bootleg, leave a "thank you" note, walk away and share it with your forum friends. :tw:

I heard about that bootleg long ago, but I have never meet someone who actually have it.

Maybe its easier if we ask Hans if he has any idea about this particular recording, maybe even someone in the band has it and actually wants to share *wishful thinking mood*

I think the band played some AAD songs when Bart was stull on the band, before the recording of the album

I think that's right too. and actually I know for sure the line up of that show was with Bart only behind the vocal mic

On 7th and 8th of June 1993 The Gathering did 2 shows in Tel Aviv. I don't have this bootleg, but I'm sure that it was with Bart on vocals. He left the band 3 months later (July).

A bootleg of the show at the Meulepop festival (20 June 1993) exits as well. I don't have this bootleg, but it's mentioned in an old interview (done by Steven Willems). On this bootleg you can hear Niels singing songs like 'The Sky People' and 'A Passage To Desire', which would later end up on the 'Almost A Dance' album. At this bootleg the lyrics of these songs are completely different different from the final version at the album. When Niels joined the band, he wrote complete new lyrics to these songs. TG kept the titles of the songs, but the lyrics were changed completely. On these recordings you can already easily hear that Bart tries to sing in a different way. So at that time TG was searching for the new / 'Almost A Dance' sound.

That's the info I found about the bootleg some years ago:
07 or 08.04.1993 - Pinguin Club, Tel Aviv, Israel
audio:
01 In Sickness And Health
02 Gaya's Dream
03 Second Sunrise
04 Heartbeat Amplifier
05 Stonegarden
06 King For A Day
07 Passage Of Desire
08 The Mirror Waters
09 Subzero

lenght: 60 min

This show is available on the bootleg called "Live At Tel Aviv".

The ino about the date is a little bit confusing: Somebody told me that there
were 2 shows on 7/4/93 and 8/4/93 together with the English punk band G.B.H.
But the official the homepage said that there were two shows in Tel Aviv
from 6th to 13th April 1993.

Hmm this might nee dto be doubled-checked.. the dates before 1998 were taken from the old website... when hans Nagtegaal was managing it. might be there was some errors in the very early dates... didnt double checked

Well I thought I had this bootleg you're talking about but nope I was mistaken.
I had to search among my garbage and old crap and I found a tape, with this concert, the track list below:

20.2.1993 (unknown place, surely is not the Tel Aviv one)
1.the mirror waters
2.in sickness and health
3.heartbeat amplifier
4.second sunrise
5.gaya's dream
6.stonegarden
7.a passage to desire
8.king for a day
9.always...
10.anthology in black
11.subzero

I took some TV screen shots using my old fashion vcr/vhs.
sorry the quality is quite bad, it sounds decent though, and the content is precious. In this gig we can see Bart singing Almost A Dance stuff with growls together with the lovely Marike aswell.

you can see the date:

Looks like the good old tg isn't it?:

Thanks for telling me, I was curious to know where the heck it was played.
I would like to convert to digital in order to preserve the material. (cause in tape is getting wasted) And obviously share it :)
But pity, I'm too freaking lazy plus I sux with technology stuff, so I can't promise anything, well eventually I will. But I'm afraid it won't be any soon.

cheers.

You could take it to a store that transfers tape to dvd and then not have to bother with the technology. Then share the dvd!
