+1 for If_Then_Else.

Anneke's vocal work is far better on this album since the songs are more diversified than the other albums ones.

Just listen to Amity, Shot To Pieces and Analog Park! Really different way of singing, unlike Mandylion, Nighttime Birds and HTMAP

though she (and the rest of the band) doesn't realize too much... anneke's voice stand out with the metal sound much more... now it's just like a pop band with a "nice" voice but similar to many others...

it's too difficult to give an answer....
those works are too different and the vocal style changes a lot from an album to another one (except, probably, Mandylion an NB)...

+1. Mandylion remains my favourite (and first) TG album. In some ways simple, yet powerfully delivered - amazing!

I voted Mandylion. It's the first The Gathering album I've ever heard and honestly it swept me off my feet :o
It's a fantastic mix - quite heavy music (if you compare it with later albums) and fantastic Anneke's voice. Especially "Leaves" hit straight to my heart.
