I have found 2 different covers of Mandylion :

Image Image

On the first one the darkest square is on the bottom left and on the second one the darkest square is on the bottom right. I have found no information about this difference on the Gathring related websites. Someone know from which version of the Mandylion album are those covers ? Thank U

my copies (cd+picture disk) have the dark square on the right.
the other could be the digipack american press or the japan version? Sherlock Burn could solve this enigma... 8) :P :green:

Yes... if someone have the Mandylion cover with the dark square on the bottom left... tell us. On those cover we can also see that the brown mask square is smaller on the first cover. But now... I have also found 2 different covers for the Nighttime Birds album :

Image Image

Here the difference is into the Gathering title position in the cover (on the top of the picture on the first cover and over the picture on the second cover) and into the tree/snow picture (with a large bottom border on the first cover and with a small border one on the second cover). The first cover seems to be the more common one... but from were came the second one ?

It's the same with How To Measure A Planet?:

Image Image

Here again the Gathering title position is different between the two covers (higher in the first one). We can also see on the second cover that "How to measure a planet?" title have a white shadow. The first cover seems also to be the more common one... but from were came the second one ?

The problem is that it's not pirate copies. For example, if you go to the Century Media web site, here, you will see the alternative covers of Mandylion (with the dark square on the left). So this is an official release. Strange, no ? Limited edition ? New release ? I don't know... but I wnat to know.

And for superheat... Here also a small difference. The left cover is the more common one. The right one have some text on the bottom (could be an added sticker) but more strange is the album title "superheat", in red, just under the picture. On the right cover is not centered and there also a black text next. Did someone know form were come the second one ?? Japanase or US version ?

Image Image

What I want to know is if some fans here have the alternative covers and, if yes, that is the version of the album. I know that for each album, several version have been released, but did there cover are the same ??

Ok I have a possible explaination ;)
For the Superheat story, it's a promo version I'd have to check on my promos when I get back to Paris but that could be it!

Yes... maybe also all the other alternative album covers are from promo version. But it could not explain the alternative cover of mandylion which is present on the Century Media website... :-?

Image

This one is also a promo version of the if_then_else album ?

:green: @ Cerebus!

If you see the trackinglist on the cover, it's a promo for sure. that's the way century media was doing their promo around 1999-2001.. I dunno if it's still like this since I didnt get a promo for Sleepy Buildings...
