We will try to do our best. Try to get in contact with promotors who have experience with booking European bands. Cheerio! Hans

Here's the "answer" I got back from RoadRunner Records - totally ignored the question, and contradicted themselves.

Quote:
Question:
Who was the promoter for the recent Nightwish tour in Australia? You mentioned that a promoter was interested in a Within Temptation tour do you know any that might be interested in a tour by The Gathering? (Aussie fans certainly are...)

Answer:
Mmmmm, I doubt the Within Temptation tour is going to happen any time soon. They have quite a large stage production and it would cost a lot of money to bring the band and their equipment out. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be enough interest here in Australia to facilitate this. Never say never though!

Anyone got any contacts at the Royal Netherlands embassy/consulate? New Holland must be due for a "cultural exchange visit" from The Gathering by now. :D

Edit: Odd - I posted this on June 20, yet the message timestamp says June 6.

I really enjoy your music. Any chance of a tour down in Australia?

... your style - particularly You Learn About It is very similar to a band down here that I really like. They are called Decoder Ring. Their album "Somersault" is the one most similar.

Fingers crossed!!

Eyyy, another Aussie! Xander, have you heard anything by the Howling Bells? They're another Aussie band with a bit of a TG infleunce going on.

On topic, I don't really like our chances of them making their way over here. Hans said he'd love to come down under, but making it happen is much easier said then done :(

yeah.. I like the Howling Bells - Juanita Stein is a cool singer. I liked her from the Waikiki days!

I think they are playing my town soon... or I probably just missed them as always seems to be the case.

Have TG ever been played on Triple J? .. maybe a few years ago??

I heard In Motion #2 played on Full Metal Racket once, but apart from that I don't think they've recieved any air time from Triple J. Which is a shame, cos I'm sure a lot of the indie kids would dig a bit of TG.

Thanks for the band leads; I'm always keen to find new bands that (may) suit my tastes - like The Gathering. :)

I've voted for "Mandylion" as My Favourite Album - have you?
