Hi everybody!

I am plannning to take my girlfriend to see The Gathering at this concert in Groningen, because her birthday is the 30th.

Anyway, if any of you could recomend me a hotel (nice and cheap) or give me any tips of the best way to get to Groningen from Amsterdam, I would really appreciate it.
Either way I will check up in the internet... but if anybody lives there or knows the place, I know will be very helpful.

I am asking you for this big favor, because we've never been in the Netherlands... and we are currently living in Spain.

My girlfriend is a great The Gathering fan and have never seen them live.
I know she will enjoy it and I will appreciate your help.

The easiest way to travel from Amsterdam to Groningen is simply taking the train. You can take a train from Amsterdam Centraal directly to Groningen, town centre to town centre. The trip will be a little over two hours and a return ticket will cost you a bit less then €40. But make sure you have a weekend return ticket so you don't have to travel back the same day...
I don't know any hotels in Groningen but you could try this site: http://www.groningen.nl/toerisme/

I live in Groningen for two months, nice city :wink:

But I would recommend Martini Hotel; 3 stars, relative cheap and in the centre of the city, not far from the railwaystation and concerthall Oosterpoort where The Gathering plays. When you come with a car, there is a parking by the hotel.

Travel by train is quiet easy, by car check here

And I wil be going to Sneek, het bolwerk in december.
Does anyone know what songs the play at the concert?
I'll hope they play travel.

Yes I'm looking forward too, it's quite a long time ago that I saw this band; October 2004 in L'warden.
I currently live in Groningen, but my parents live in Hardegarijp (near L'warden), so I go to those Friesland-concerts too.
