I was just curious... I know we are all a really tight family of TG fans.

What I was wondering... How did YOU find out about the Gathering?

In my country (Chile), between `97 and `99 years, existed a radio broadcasting station dedicated to play Rock/metal (24 hours). There I listened Confusion in year 97 (was habitual to listen songs of bands like TG) . All the programming of that station was really amazing. Unfortunately that station finished. It was named Concierto rock & guitarras. After that I continued listening Gathering and read the magazine where they appeared articles of them. In 99 year they cancelled a show in Chile and was sad, but finally they came in 2004 and returned in 2006 :). Sadly I didn`t saw playing them old songs...so anyway.

saludos

Just the same...

In the year 1994 on the russian radio MAXIMUM has been a program named somekindlike LEARNING TO SWIM...It has been reviewing all genres of heavy and alternative music - from art rock to black metal...So,once they've played TG!It was KING FOR A DAY and I liked it but not so much..And then, one year later I've bought Mandylion and really was amazed..So it began..

read a review about the band in October 95 ...

found Mandylion LP in November 95 ...

(probably the reason why i listen more often to Mandylion tracks each winter.)

I found them under my bed!

No, I heard Stonegarden (from Always...) in a Metal radioshow early 1995. I became a fan right there!

Straight ahead, second street to the right, across the place that sells oranges. But only in December.

   Good old Calin!

First listening: Mandylion song, on the local train, probably in mid autumn but it's not sure, mid autumn or mid spring lights are what I remember...The first song I heard in my ears in which Anneke was singing was so Sand and Mercury. Right in love, it was very touching...
But to become a crazy silly goddamn fan I had to see them live once (2002). Since that summer day I'm a freak of TG too :tw:

Sooo nice to see someone from Morocco!!! We're growing and growing! Youssef, welcome!!

It wasn't that long ago, but I was hearing things about the band. So I decided to use Pandora and listen to their songs. The first 3 songs I remember hearing that got me into the band were Liberty Bell, Herbal Movement, and new moon, new day. I then checked out one of their unofficial myspaces and found In motion #1, Leaves, 2 other songs that I can't think of at the moment, and all of their youtube linked videos. Of course afterwards, I bought their albums. :green:
