I've designed a new style for this forum.

If you want to have a look at / use the new style,
go to your User Control Panel (on top of the forum page) -> Options: Board settings -> My board style
change it from the default 'subsilver2' to 'theGathering'.

The main part of the new style is ready.
Maybe I'll make the difference in colours between orange and brown a bit more clear. The contrast between those two might be to little (depending on your monitor adjustment)?
And I need to have a look at setting some limits to size of pictures in posts (or the way the pictures are presented), because this design had a fixed width, so space width is limited.

If you have any comments (bugs, ideas for improvement) about the new style, let me know.

nicely done :D
the header is way better than the default one ;) Maybe you could add some links in the header in the future (dunno if possible) to the site and the shop for example ;)

anyway thumbs up!

pimping the forum :D

nice header, it is more "personal"
please do the contrast colours adjustments, it looks too similar to me (or my monitor hehe)
and is there any chance to make this thing widescreen? (not really a big deal, but it would be nice)

i need to get used to it, but i like to see something different
so, thank you
i'll be testing

I've now made "theGathering" the default style. The old style "subsilver2" is still available. Go to your 'user control panel' to select your favourite style.

@Burn,
Yes, I can add some links, to http://www.gathering.nl and webshop. I'll do that next week.

@Hunter,
I'll try to improve the contrast.
The previous style was full-screen. But on wide-screen monitors (which you'll see more and more these days; it follows the wide-screen television standard) very long stretched lines of text are more difficult to read than a limited number of words per line. Although on a full-screen style more text/posts fits on the screen, I'll prefer a limited (fixed number of pixels, or %) width and this had the advantage that the forum lay-out looks the same for all visitors.

thanks for the good job.

my opinion about the different styles:

ok, so I do prefer the "subsilver2" style more than the "theGathering" one because subsilver seems less overloaded and clearer to me. or is it i'm not used to it.

I have no problem with Orange colour which is used in both styles. It looks kinda dutch too, which is cool ... but it doesn't fit this pinky head frame in the "TheGathering" style. it fits more the blue subsilver.

so, subsilver is currently my favourite.

I dont know if it has to do with the new style or the news server.. but normally when you click on this image Image you should be directly sent to the first new unread post since your last visit... Well with me it doesnt work most of the time, I'm sent to the last page of the thread but not the last unread post (in case the first post of the page I already read...)

What i considered usefull was that on each sub-board was mentioned who the moderators are (for that sub-board). That seems to be gone.
Can somewhere be listed which moderator moderates what?!

I think it's solved now.

This is a good suggestion. Modertatos are now listed on top of each forum page (not main index) and when you view a topic.

Can you fix the thing with the fotos please? Give a greater limit than 600 pixels (900? 1000?),it bothers a lot of people here...

Wtf mates? Is this condition reversible or do we have to live in a pink world full of shinning vampires? :P

What do we want?

We want the old layout!

When do we want it?

NOW MAKAFAKA!!

It will be very disappointing if there will no possibility to choose between the current theme and subsilver2. Most of us are used to subsilver2.

It was when the default look of the forum was changed to the pink/orange theme with a graphic of the dragon at the top. I thought it looked quite good. But it was quickly changed back to "subsilver2".
